telegraph creek house, telegraph creek, bc

This is the second house Florian and Erika built on a remote site near Telegraph Creek, BC. The first house was a hewn log cabin with a set of moose antlers attached to its facade. TC2 is less of an escape to the Canadian wilderness and is the beginning of Florian’s return to his innate profession. TC2 recalls some early architecture from Florian’s father Hans Maurer. It has a gable roof of geometric purity, a loft along one side, and expansive glazing at the double-height space. The building was also fit with a crawl-space wood boiler and an operable skylight. TC2 has a golden ratio of do-it-yourself and world-class design.
