A modern glass and metal house built on a rocky hillside, featuring a small outdoor deck with white furniture and surrounded by trees.

Malinka Gallery

This small addition is a gallery for viewing art: paintings, sculptures, film, and the original house. designed and built by Florian Maurer, the original house was celebrated for its delicate siting and integration of glulam and glazing. The gallery is pinned to bedrock, was prefabricated of SIPs, and entirely clad in stainless steel, including a reflective south facade. Its shape and cladding are meant to let the building melt into its surroundings, reflecting on the original landscape and architecture.
