one boardshop (pentagon)
penticton, bc
This project centres on the evolution of a long-standing community skate shop that has played a defining role in shaping skate culture in Penticton. More than a retail space, it functioned as a true gathering point - a place where skaters connected, shared ideas, and built lasting relationships.
When rising rent pressures threatened the future of the original location, the shop reached a critical moment. Instead of allowing the space to disappear, the owners pursued a collaborative path by partnering with OneBoard Shop, a larger BC-based retailer whose values and commitment to the skate community closely aligned with their own.
This partnership made it possible to relocate and re-envision the shop’s identity, ensuring the continuation of its legacy while gaining access to broader resources, a wider audience, and long-term stability. The move represented more than a change of address—it offered an opportunity to reaffirm the shop’s character, honour its roots, and create a renewed environment for both past and future generations of skaters.
Austin, a long-time member of the skate community, played an integral role in guiding the development of the project and ensuring it remained authentic to its origins. His involvement not only strengthened the final outcome but also fostered future collaboration between F2A and OneBoard Shop.
