People, buildings, and place is a phrase that has stayed with me since graduating from the University of York, England, with a B.Sc. in Archaeology. I’ve always been fascinated by the stories buildings tell — how they shape, and are shaped by, the people who inhabit them. My professional background in urban planning, with a focus on historic buildings, has deepened this passion, enhancing my understanding of how communities evolve and how thoughtful design can influence both human and natural systems.

I grew up in rural Yorkshire, surrounded by architecture from medieval abbeys and Roman walls to contemporary structures, which inspired a lifelong curiosity about how built environments reflect culture, identity, and history.

To me, architecture is not only about form and function, but also about cultural identity and the sense of belonging that the built environment provides. At f2a architecture + construction, I’m proud to be part of a team creating sustainable, context-driven spaces that connect people and place.
