Cat-boarding lodge

Drawing upon the team’s passion for mountain culture, F2A Architecture has created an alpine-inspired concept design for a cat-boarding lodge. The design seamlessly blends rugged environmental performance with a premium guest experience.

The upgrades retro-fit and protect the existing modular buildings for a long-term use beneath a heavy-duty, weather-resistant roof structure that are engineered for heavy snow and rain, which simultaneously creates sheltered outdoor balcony spaces for the guests.

At the core of the design is a new and bright common space oriented toward panoramic mountain views, complete with low-sill window perches and multi-tiered timber climbing structures that mimic an indoor alpine landscape. The relaxing guest lounge connects neatly to the kitchen and staff facilities via a secure, insulated architectural buffer, ensuring maximum operational efficiency and safety while maintaining a serene, stress-free lodge environment.
