A modern community center with a blue roof and light-colored brick walls, featuring large pink-framed windows. There are people outside, some standing and talking, others sitting inside visible through the windows. Bicycles are parked near a yellow railing, and a man is holding a dog on a leash. A woman is near a car, and another person is sitting on a bench with a dog. The scene includes green trees, a cloudy sky, and birds flying overhead.

castlegar shelter - castlegar, bc

The Castelgar Homeless Shelter will provide a safe, permanent housing for individuals experiencing homelessness. Developed in partnership with BC Housing, the project combines private living spaces with shared amenities, creating a supportive and dignified environment for residents.

Designed with a human-centered approach, the shelter balances privacy and community. Each unit offers personal space, while shared areas—such as dining, lounge, and support facilities—encourage connection and provide access to essential services. The architecture prioritizes safety, accessibility, and comfort within a compact and efficient footprint.
